A message for our Landon Society donors

Thank you, on behalf of current and future Spartans

While we appreciate every one of our alumni, donors and friends whose support helps to sustain us, Landon Society members have a special place among them.

As donors who have made a future gift, you have anticipated and prepared Michigan State for challenges that will be faced far beyond our lifetimes. And, the opportunities made available with your gifts will provide transformative support for generations of worthy students.

Your Impact

To date, documented commitments to MSU total nearly $885 million.

That amount of future support represents 3,186 gifts, in the form of charitable trusts, bequests, charitable gift annuities, and life estate gifts, to name a few.

With 1,836 active Landon Society households, that means many of you have remembered MSU in more than one way.

In the 2019-20 academic year so far, 99 new future gifts to MSU have been documented, totaling $37.7 million.

Honoring Linda Landon…and You

Landon Society is named for Linda Landon, who as MSU’s librarian from 1891 to 1931, built both a library and library staff to support the young college’s growing research capacity.

Like many trail blazers, she met the school’s immediate needs while also laying a solid foundation for the future. Like Linda Landon, you believe in Michigan State and its mission, and have made a commitment that inspires us today and prepares us for all the triumphs and challenges that lie ahead.

Landon Society Events

Every other year, Landon Society members are invited to a luncheon on campus to celebrate their commitment to MSU. While the luncheon cannot take place this Spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we hope you will enjoy looking back at these photos from the luncheon in 2018.
