Experience MSU
Experience MSU provides a select group of alumni, donors and friends with an exclusive sampling of MSU’s cutting-edge and transformative initiatives. The Spring 2009 program gave “insider” views through presentations from distinguished faculty such as Konrad Gelbke, professor and director of the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory, who spoke about the recently announced Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) to be built on campus. Participants also saw research results on the future of entrepreneurship in Michigan from James Madison faculty and students, unique highlights of outstanding undergraduate research, an overview of MSU’s international reach, and a select look at MSU Libraries’ Special Collections. The weekend was capped off with a tour of the newest athletic facilities that included a visit with Head Football Coach Mark Dantonio. In addition, guests enjoyed private lunches and dinners with President Simon and Provost Wilcox at exceptional campus venues, and such university treasures as performances by College of Music students, attendance at the Green & White game, a trip to the top of Beaumont Tower to play the carillon and a refreshing dip of ice cream at the MSU Dairy Store.
