Corporate and Foundation Relations

Michigan State University's Corporate and Foundation Relations team seeks to facilitate and strengthen relationships between MSU, business and industry, and private philanthropic organizations. Such relationships are crucial to the advancement and support of MSU's mission of teaching, research and outreach.

• Provides a central point of contact for corporations to MSU faculty and staff.
• Channels inquiries from business and industry relating to research collaborations, professional education, internships, student recruitment, and other corporate requests to appropriate MSU programs.
• Matches MSU programmatic and institutional needs with corporate, foundation and other philanthropic interests and makes connections for MSU faculty with appropriate funders.
• Serves as a central clearance point for philanthropic requests to corporations and foundations.

Corporate Relations

The Corporate Relations team acts as a gateway to MSU's greatest resources - knowledge and people. We seek to partner with the corporate community to structure and promote strong working relationships that advance both the objectives of industry and the mission of the university.

The Corporate Relations team can support your corporation's campus interests that may range from funding scholarships to faculty support or naming opportunities. We also seek to make your visits to campus meaningful and will work toward meeting corporate objectives through the arrangement of meetings with strategic faculty, administration, and staff.

Foundation Relations

Foundation Relations staff facilitate connections between MSU and private foundations and other philanthropic organizations through organized campus visits or individual visits with funders to discuss specific projects of relevance to the funder's mission. Working with the central administration, colleges and units of MSU, the Foundation Relations team seeks to match university strengths and priorities with private funders' interests in the areas of research, academic programs, and outreach projects. We advise faculty, development colleagues and other university grant seekers in identifying foundation funding sources as well as provide assistance in preparing and submitting proposals.

Partners Newsletter

The Corporate and Foundation Relations team is also responsible for producing the Partners Newsletter, a publication which highlights the many ways that business and industry are currently partnering with MSU.
